How do I become a member?It’s very easy. Simply fill in your details and Nectar card number on our registration page and sign up! You must be a member of the Nectar loyalty programme in order to join the panel, so if you are not already a Nectar cardholder, please visit nectar.com to register for a Nectar account.
Can other members of my household also become Nectar Canvass members?We always welcome new panel members! Your family and friends may simply visit our website and register. Please note that there can only be 2 people from the same household registered to the panel and each panel member will require a different email address and Nectar loyalty card as our quality controls prevent multiple panel members from registering under one email address. All registrations are also subject to our vigorous data quality controls. Please note they must be a member of the Nectar loyalty programme in order to join the panel, so if they are not already a member please visit nectar.com in order to join the scheme
Why do I need to give you my Nectar card number when I join?As a member of the panel you will be rewarded with Nectar points. In order for your Nectar points to appear on your Nectar account at nectar.com , we ask you to register your Nectar card number during the joining phase so that your details can be verified.
What should I do if I want to change my password?To change your password, simply log-in to your account and click the ‘My Account’ tab where you will be able to edit this.
What should I do if I need to update my personal data?If you wish to make any changes to your account, please sign in and go to ‘My Account’ where you should be able to make the necessary changes yourself. Remember that your email address is your username so this is the one detail you can't change inside your account information. If you do want to change this please contact us .
What should I do if I need to change my Nectar card number ?If your Nectar card number has changed then please contact us .
How do I access my account?To access your account please log in by entering your email address and password. In your account you can complete profile information to ensure that relevant surveys are sent to you, update your details as well as your Nectar card number, and see your survey history and the points you have accumulated so far.
If I leave the country, do I need to notify you?Nectar Canvass is a panel for UK residents only. If you move permanently, please cancel your membership by logging onto your account and clicking on Unsubscribe within the My Account section. You don't need to notify us if you are going on holiday.
How can my family and friends join Nectar Canvass?In order to join they can go to the Nectar Canvass website to fill out their registration form . Please note they must be a member of the Nectar loyalty programme in order to join the panel, so if they are not already a member please visit nectar.com in order to join the scheme.
Can I have more than one Nectar Canvass account?No – membership is restricted to one account per Nectar cardholder.
How do I cancel my Nectar Canvass membership?If you wish to unsubscribe you can cancel your membership by logging onto your account and clicking on Unsubscribe within the My Account section. It could take up to a couple of days to deactivate your account fully, during which time you may be invited to take part in a survey - in this case please just ignore the invitation. Please note that you will only be unsubscribing from the Nectar Canvass panel. You will still remain a member of the Nectar loyalty programme.
Surveys are conducted because businesses, governments, public bodies, and similar organisations are interested in the views and attitudes of the people who use their products and services. The more they know about what customers and citizens think, the easier it is for them to improve and adapt what they supply.
How often will I be asked to take surveys?We send out survey invitations on a regular basis, but cannot say who or when any member will receive invitations. This is because each survey is customised and based around the research goals for each individual client.
What happens after I join?We will send you an email welcoming you to Nectar Canvass and asking you to please confirm your account. Following this we recommend that you log-in to your account to complete profile information, and soon after you will begin receiving email invitations to take surveys. The emails will contain all the information you need to take part, including how many points you’ll receive if you complete the survey.
What is expected of me when participating in surveys?When participating in surveys we ask that you please give careful care to every question you answer. As a leading market research company our reputation is based on providing accurate data and in return we try to ensure that you receive a fair reward for your time and your care in answering our surveys. Quality mechanisms are put in place to validate your responses so failure to answer honestly may result in your answers not being accepted and you being screened out. If we identify dishonest behaviour we cannot pay you the reward for the survey, and if this behaviour continues we may deactivate your account. (Please read our Terms & Conditions for further information).
Will I be penalised if I do not complete a survey I am invited to participate in?You won't be penalised if you do not complete a survey. You can complete as many or as few of the surveys you are invited to participate in. Your points grow the more surveys you complete.
How will I know that I am to complete a survey?We will send you an email invitation when a new survey is available for you. From that invitation you will be able to access and complete the survey. You can also click the “Take a survey” button on your dashboard to take a random “lucky dip” survey.
Why haven't I received any surveys?
Your chance to be invited to a survey really depends on a number of factors, such as the number and types of surveys we are conducting at any one time and your background information.
We will always email you if there is a new survey to take. Please ensure that your email provider is not blocking emails from Nectar Canvass.
Surveys will vary in length, but will typically take less than 15 or 20 minutes to complete. Each e-mailed invitation to participate in a survey will tell you how long it should take, and the survey deadline to respond.
Why can't I open surveys?Please note that not all internet providers allow users to click on links within their email. If you are unable to gain access to our survey please try the following:
Copy and paste the link from your email into the browser address box and press enter. This will take you directly to the correct page
Ensure you copy the entire web address into the browser as sometimes the link can spread over two lines.
Make sure when you copy the link it does not contain any line breaks as this will also stop the link from working.
I have realised I have picked the wrong answer. Can I go back and change my reply?
Unfortunately, once you submit an answer on a survey, you are not allowed to change your answer. We do this to protect the survey data.
We realise there are times when a panellist makes an honest mistake and clicks on the wrong button but unfortunately we cannot go back and change our data.
The majority of our surveys are open for a few days. However, some surveys are more popular than others and close quickly.
We always try to limit the number of panellists we invite so that the panellists we do invite have a fair chance of answering the survey. We cannot always predict how popular a survey may be, and sometimes surveys unexpectedly close quickly.
Unfortunately we can only distribute the links to the surveys once.
I received an error message, what should I do?If that happens, there may be a technical problem. You can try and access the survey again later from the survey invitation e-mail. If there is a general error with the survey it may be re-sent to you at a later date. If it happened at a late stage in the survey, please contact us providing as much information about the survey as possible such as the survey number, link from the invitation e-mail, or the topic, reward amount and date of the survey which you are inquiring about, so that we may identify the survey and assist you.
If I am away, can I get someone else to complete my surveys for me?Unfortunately once you have personally registered with the Nectar Canvass panel only you can complete the surveys. Your family and friends are welcome to join the Nectar Canvass panel. Please note that each panel member will require a different email address and a separate Nectar card number as well, as our quality controls prevent multiple panel members from registering under one email address and one Nectar card number. All registrations are also subject to our vigorous data quality controls.
Is there any extra software I will need on my computer to do these surveys?Some of our surveys require Adobe Flash Player. It should only take 2-3 minutes to download, go to http://www.adobe.com and click on the 'download Flash Player' link. While it is not compulsory that you download Flash Player in advance, it will save you from having to do so when you attempt a survey that requires it.
Why was I unable to complete a survey?Market researchers are often looking for the opinions of a very specific group of people - for example, users of a particular brand or product. Questions will be asked as part of each survey to check whether it is relevant to you. If it is not relevant for you, you will be "screened out" with a message explaining you haven’t qualified this time. This is a normal part of market research, but note that the more we know about you the better we can be at sending you relevant surveys, so we recommend that you ensure that your profile data on the website is completed. If you get screened out you will still receive 2 Nectar points for participating in the survey, and the data from non-completed surveys is discarded and not used in the final analysis of the survey or for any other purpose.
Why do you ask me questions you already know the answer to?When you sign up to Nectar Canvass we ask you to fill out some questions, for example age, gender and what region you live in, which enable us to target surveys to you better.
Often these questions are also asked at the beginning of the surveys which are hosted by our clients. Nectar Canvass doesn't share your personal information with anyone (even our clients), which is why you need to complete these questions on many of the surveys you take part in. It also ensures that the information that clients are getting is as up to date as possible, so thank you for your patience in answering these questions.
I’ve received a survey invite but when I click through there are no surveys available, why?If you have participated in a lot of surveys in the last day or two you might find that we have run out of suitable surveys for you! You can only complete 2 surveys every day, so you might need to leave it 24 hours before participating again. Additionally, the surveys you were invited to may have already reached their quota of respondents by the time you clicked through. Apologies if you click through and find that this is the case, check back tomorrow and we should have more.
We may use your information to: (i) communicate with you regarding panel membership and survey participation; (ii) to send you invitations; and (iii) to credit your Nectar account with points if all conditions are met.

Why did I get an email with a link to join Nectar Canvass if I didn't apply myself?It is possible that someone made a typing error and accidentally submitted your email address while asking to become a member of Nectar Canvass. It's also possible that someone has used your email address without your permission. If you don't want to join, simply ignore the email and the reminder that will be sent. Your details will not be included on our members' list and you will not be contacted again.

How can I see the total amount of survey points I have collected?On the Dashboard section of the Nectar Canvass website you will be able to see the total number of survey points you have collected.

How long does it take to transfer my Nectar points?After completing a survey, it can take up to 28 days for your Nectar points to show in your account on the nectar.com website.
Why doesn’t my balance on Nectar Canvass change when I spend my Nectar points?At Nectar Canvass you can see all the points you have collected through your surveys since you joined the Nectar Canvass panel in the Survey History section. These points are transferred to your Nectar account within 28 days, which is when they become available for you to spend. For an up to date points balance, showing all the points you have collected or spent, simply log in at www.nectar.com .
How do I collect my Nectar points?All points collected from taking market research surveys should be with you within 28 days. You will be able spend those points on the nectar.com website.
